Support |
Presenter Support is available from Enterprise
Information Technology Services (EITS):
- 8am-10pm Monday through
Thursday
- 8am-6pm Friday
- 1-7pm Saturday and Sunday
- Additional presenter support
hours may be available, under special circumstances, when scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
|
| Scheduling |
- UGA has a campus license for Wimba Classroom at UGA, therefore it is not necessary to schedule your Classroom sessions. Note, however, that support hours are limited (see
above).
- Events may be scheduled
for any day of the week, and any time of day. Again,
support hours for presenters are limited (see
above).
- Presenters who schedule
events during regular and extended presenter support hours may request the assistance of an
EITS support person. This support person will log in to the classroom
and assist participants with technical difficulties. For semester-length
or multiple-session events, the EITS support person is available for
the first two sessions when requested. Please contact Robert Ethier for more information regarding this support service.

Creation |
- Wimba Classroom is accessed via WebCT. All WebCT course designers may add the Classroom icon to their WebCT course and allow access to students in that course. Once students are logged in to WebCT, their login information is passed on automatically to Classroom.
- UGA Faculty and Staff
may request exception accounts for for guest presenters who are not affiliated with UGA (therefore do not have a UGA MyID to login to WebCT).
To set up exception accounts, login to WebCT, select the link at the right called "UGA WebCT Faculty Resources Page" and then "Request Individual Exception Accounts." More information is available for hosting guest presenters.

| Room
Creation |
Presenters may
create their own rooms as needed, such as lecture/discussion rooms and
breakout rooms. Rooms are created within WebCT. See the Room Setup QuickStart Guide for instructions.
|
| Server
Cleanup |
On occasion,
it is necessary to remove user accounts and rooms that are no longer
being used. Presenters will receive ample notice before any cleanup
occurs.
|
| Backup
Procedures |
The system
files necessary for disaster recovery will be backed up, however, good
practice dictates that media files should always be archived by
the account holder on a machine other than this server.
